We (South Meadows Homeowners Association, Inc.) had sought the help of two government agencies regarding our housing problem, the local government through the Office of the Mayor, and HUDCC. Both had given us favorable actions. We had negotiated with HUDCC to organize an inter-agency committee composed of HUDCC, HLURB, HGC, Pag-IBIG, Imperial Homes Corp., and us, to thresh-out solutions to our demands. The tentative schedule of the inter-agency meeting is on June 30, but HUDCC official, particularly Mr. Raymond Rodriguez of the Office of the Asst. to the Sec General Atty. Pam Felizarta, said that the meeting will have to be re-scheduled because the other govt. agencies had not yet responded. We'll have to follow this up 'coz this might be just a delaying tactic. But we had received concessions with regards to our other demand on eviction. They said that they will make actions to inform the concerned parties (Pag-IBIG and the developer, IHC) that until an agreement is made, there will be no eviction. We also had a meeting with the local government regarding this and they had the same position as HUDCC. So in summary, our initial actions on this housing struggle is a SUCCESS.
