Happy New Year ! As what we all say when an old one is about to end and a new year will start. We're always excited what the new year would bring to our lives, and we anticipate that they're all positive things: good business, new customers, and new material things, house, car, etc, for the affluent, and pay increase, promotion, and better working environment, for the workers. Majority of the class A/B use the Chinese "feng-shui" teachings to increase their chances of getting rich.
I think this is the natural feeling and emotion as one chapter ends, and another is about to start. There's a new hope and belief. It's embedded in the Filipino culture, I guess. The Church is number one in saying that we should always hope for the best. But we sometimes forget that hoping alone will not solve our problems. Hope and a great desire alone will not change our present situations. Sometimes we tend to just be contented with the emotions. Sometimes we lose focus on the tangible resolutions and concrete actions. I agree that every action starts from an emotion, a hope, a desire, a passion, or whatever and however big that emotion is, but it must not stop there. Sound plans and actions should follow. So instead of just being happy and hopeful for the year to come, we should put in the details of how to fulfill the hopes.
